Previously, at 3:00 p.m. on April 18, Luong Manh Tuan, Luong Bao Khanh, and Ha Nhat Anh went swimming together in the Luoc Lau area of ​​Hieu River. Khanh and Anh both study at Chau Hanh 2 Primary School, Chau Hanh Commune, Quy Chau District.

While bathing, Khanh and Anh slipped into a deep hole in the river. Seeing this, Luong Manh Tuan swam out to save the two children. After pushing the two children to safety, Tuan was exhausted and was swept away by the current.

Luong Manh Tuan was a student of class 7A3, Hanh Thiet Secondary School, Quy Chau district and lived in Ke Ninh village, Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district.

Tuan's family has two children and is considered poor. In Tuan's family, only his mother is the main breadwinner. Tuan's father has suffered from epilepsy for many years and his grandmother is mentally ill and not lucid.

Despite their special circumstances, Tuan and his sister have made great efforts to study for many years and have received many awards for their achievements. Tuan is also a determined student. Despite his remote home and difficult circumstances, he is a diligent and hardworking student.

At the same time, he affirmed that the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training is the gratitude of the industry for the brave action and efforts to save his friend of student Luong Manh Tuan.

It is known that the province has also completed the dossier to submit to the Central level to posthumously award the Medal of Bravery to Luong Manh Tuan.

From 2015 to now, Nghe An education sector has had 8 cases (including 6 students and 2 teachers) receiving Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for bravery. Among them, 1 student was awarded the Medal of Bravery.
