Posthumously awarded the Fatherland Protection Medal and the 'Fatherland's Gratitude' certificate to martyr Cao Xuan Tu

(Baonghean.vn) – On January 11, in Dien Cat commune (Dien Chau), Brigade 543 (Military Region 2) held a ceremony to posthumously award the Fatherland Protection Medal and the Fatherland Certificate of Merit to the family of martyr Cao Xuan Tu.

Attending the ceremony were the commander of Brigade 543 (Military Region 2), representatives of Nghe An Provincial Military Command, Dien Chau District Military Command, local Party committees, authorities and people of hamlets 2A and 2B, Dien Cat commune and relatives of martyr Cao Xuan Tu's family.

Many comrades, relatives and people of Dien Cat commune (Dien Chau) attended the ceremony to posthumously award the Fatherland Protection Medal and the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to martyr Cao Xuan Tu.

Previously, on August 15, 2016, while performing the AD-05 mission in Pu Nhi commune, Dien Bien Dong district (Dien Bien province), comrade Cao Xuan Tu (born September 20, 1983, in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An) - former Military Battalion Commander, Battalion 25, Brigade 543, Military Region 2, Ministry of National Defense unfortunately encountered a geological engineering incident leading to an accident. He acted bravely and sacrificed himself to save his comrades.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Phuong - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 543, Military Region 2 awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the representative of martyr Cao Xuan Tu's family.

In recognition of the sacrifice of Comrade Cao Xuan Tu, the President signed a decision to posthumously award the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal; the Prime Minister signed a decision to award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union signed a decision to award the "Brave Youth" Badge.

Many people of Dien Cat commune (Dien Chau) burned incense to commemorate martyr Cao Xuan Tu.

At the ceremony to present the above titles, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Phuong - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 543 affirmed that the sacrifice of martyr Cao Xuan Tu was a great loss to the Vietnam People's Army, Military Region 2, the Brigade and his family.

In response to that heroic sacrifice, Brigade 543 launched a movement to learn from and follow the spirit of sacrifice of martyr Cao Xuan Tu.
