Searching for the person who spread the video of the girl being raped
Investigators are searching for the person who posted a video of a 16-year-old girl being raped by two young men in a motel on social media.
If the poster aims to insult the honor and dignity of the character invideo, that behavior has signs of the crime of Humiliating others, according to Article 155 of the Penal Code.
"The unit is searching for the distributor and clarifying the motive to serve as a basis for handling," said the leader.
Over the past two days, a 40-second video has been circulating on social media showing a girl screaming for help after being sexually assaulted by some young men in a motel room. The video has now been removed from the platform.
Authorities determined that the rape occurred several months ago at a motel in Cam Xuyen district. The victim was 16 years old.
Based on the complaint of the victim's family, in October 2021, Cam Xuyen District Police prosecuted and arrested two suspects for the act of Rape of a person under 16 years old, according to Article 142 of the Penal Code. The case was transferred to the Ha Tinh Criminal Police Department for handling.
Article 326 of the Penal Code provides:Anyone who makes, copies, circulates, stores, or disseminates books, newspapers, paintings, photos, films, music, or other items with obscene or pornographic content, or otherwise disseminates obscene items, shall be subject to a fine of between VND 10,000,000 and VND 100,000,000, non-custodial reform for up to three years, or imprisonment of between six months and three years.
