49 students prosecuted for leading 3 drug rehabilitation escapes
In 3 drug rehabilitation camp escapes, Dong Nai province authorities identified 49 instigators as ringleaders.
The People's Procuracy of Xuan Loc District (Dong Nai) has completed the indictment to prosecute 49 defendants who are students of Dong Nai Drug Rehabilitation Center for the crime of Disturbing public order.
From October 23 to November 7, 2016, at Dong Nai Drug Rehabilitation Center located in Xuan Phu Commune, Xuan Loc District, there were 3 consecutive incidents of hundreds of students escaping from the camp.

According to the indictment, on the morning of November 6, 2016, Tran Ngoc Dung (26 years old, residing in Trang Bom district) shouted and demanded that the staff of the drug rehabilitation center let him out onto the field.
When the center staff did not respond, the 26-year-old man broke the door to get out.
Dung shouted and dragged Le Huy Hoang (30 years old) and Nguyen Minh Phuoc (23 years old) to break down the door to go out into the yard.
In the yard area, Hoang lit a mini gas cylinder to make it explode. All three students then climbed onto the roof of the rehabilitation center, shouting and inciting other students in areas A, D, and E to smash the room and escape.
At 10:00 a.m. on November 7, 2016, hundreds of students shouted, smashed things, and then rushed out the main gate, escaping from the rehabilitation center.
Previously on the night of October 23, 2016, over 500 students vandalized the drug rehabilitation center, then flooded into residential areas, causing chaos, and blocking traffic on Highway 1, causing panic and fear among the people.
After the incident, hundreds of police were mobilized to search for and bring the escapees back to the rehabilitation facility. At the same time, the cause was clarified.
Based on the investigation results of 3 batches of students escaping from the camp, 49 students were found to have been leaders, organizers, and instigators.
The students’ destruction of rooms and equipment caused more than 30 million VND in damage to the rehabilitation center. The investigation agency is currently continuing to clarify the related subjects for handling.
