Prosecution of wife of suspect who killed creditor and burned body to destroy evidence
Vu Thi Mung, wife of Cao Tai Nang, was prosecuted by Hai Duong province's prosecution agency for concealing a criminal and violating corpses and remains.
Information from the People's Court of Hai Duong province said that on November 18, the first instance trial of defendants Cao Tai Nang (born in 1981) and Vu Thi Mung (Nang's wife, born in 1983) is expected to open, both related to the murder case.creditorBurning the body to destroy evidence occurred on November 28, 2020.
According to the indictment, before the incident, Cao Tai Nang said he was very angry because Duong Cong Cuong (born in 1974, residing in Gia Loc town, Gia Loc district, Hai Duong) demanded a debt of 3 billion VND.
At about 9:00 a.m. on November 28, 2020, at 126 Nguyen Thuong Man, Binh Han Ward, Hai Duong City, Mr. Cuong went to meet the subject to demand money.

Here, Nang used a wooden stick from behind to repeatedly hit the victim in the head. As a result, Cuong died on the spot.
Nang took the victim's phone, car, watch and some other properties and buried the victim's body on the riverbank near his house. On July 1, 2021, Nang was arrested and confessed to his crime.
Cao Tai Nang was prosecuted for murder, robbery and violation of corpses and remains.
The investigation results also determined that Nang's wife, Vu Thi Mung, committed the crime of concealing a criminal and violating the body or remains of another person.

Glad to know her husband committed a crime but did not report it and even helped the perpetrator erase the traces.
Specifically, on the night of the incident, Cao Tai Nang told his wife that he had killed someone and that the victim's body was still at the pharmacy.
Mung advised her husband to turn himself in, but Nang was afraid of being arrested and imprisoned, so he threatened to commit suicide. Nang said he had found the burial site and asked his wife to help. Mung agreed.
That same night, the couple used a car to move the victim's body to bury on the bank of Kim Son River, in Zone 9, Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Duong City, where Nang had dug a hole in the afternoon.
The next day, Nang went to the place where the victim's body was buried and planted tea trees and philodendron to avoid others discovering new traces of digging.
The next afternoon, Nang and Mung continued to erase traces at the pharmacy at 126 Nguyen Thuong Man street and the vehicle carrying the victim's body.

After that, the couple drove the victim's car to Hanoi, continued to use towels and alcohol to erase traces, destroyed the dash cam, took all the belongings in the victim's car and put them in plastic bags to take away.
Around the end of 2020 (lunar calendar), when discovering that the area where the victim was buried had some new trees planted, Nang was afraid that someone else would discover Cuong's body.
On the evening of November 27th of the lunar calendar (February 8, 2021 of the solar calendar), Nang and his wife bought about 6.5 liters of gasoline, dug up the victim's body, piled it with firewood and wood, and set it on fire. At that time, a fisherman on the river discovered it and asked, "What are you burning that's so big?" Mung replied, "Burn anti-epidemic items." The fisherman left.
Waiting for the fire to go out, the couple used a shovel to scoop the victim's ashes and bones into plastic bags and threw them in many places to destroy the evidence.
After committing the crime, Mung became pregnant and gave birth to a third child.
