ANTV television station fined 15 million VND for broadcasting false information.

This morning, December 8th, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Decision 1138/QD-XPVPHC imposing a fine on the People's Police Broadcasting, Television and Film Center (represented by Colonel Duong Nhu Hong, Director of the Center) for using inappropriate images in a news report.

For the act of "publishing and broadcasting false information causing serious harm" in the Security News program broadcast on December 1, 2014, on the People's Police Television channel (ANTV), the People's Police Broadcasting, Television, and Film Center was fined 15 million VND for using images that did not match the content.

This penalty is applied in accordance with Point a, Clause 3, Article 8 of Decree 159/2013/ND-CP dated November 12, 2013, regulating administrative sanctions for violations in journalistic and publishing activities.

Thus, since the beginning of August, two television channels have been fined for disseminating false information. Previously, VTV was also fined 10 million VND for publishing false information in its Business-Finance News program on VTV1.
