US media: President Trump may make significant concessions when meeting with Russian President
In his upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump may make some concessions on the Ukraine issue.

According to RIA Novosti on August 8, Responsible Statecraft Magazine (an online magazine of the Quincy Institute) reported that US President Donald Trump may make "more significant" concessions on the Ukraine conflict at his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin than previously thought.
“President Trump may be preparing to make more significant concessions than previously expected. This explains why Moscow considered “new US proposals” acceptable, following the visit of special envoy Steve Witkoff,” Responsible Statecraft said.
Responsible Statecraft notes that President Donald Trump will need to meet Russia's key demands, such as formally recognizing the newly annexed regions, ensuring Ukraine's neutral status, excluding Ukraine from NATO membership, and demilitarizing Ukraine.
According to the publication, such a policy change by Mr. Trump could be related to his failure to threaten to impose tariffs on India and China.
Specifically, China, which still retains strong influence, may retaliate by restricting exports of rare earth metals to the US, which are key to Washington's industry and defense.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters that Russia and the United States had agreed on a meeting between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in the coming days, and preparations for the summit were beginning.
On August 7, President Putin revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the suitable locations for his meeting with his US counterpart.
