North Korean media reports on Vietnam's economic development
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 27, the Rodong Sinmun, the mouthpiece of the Workers' Party of Korea, published an article about Vietnam's economic development, amid speculation that President Kim Jong-un might try to learn the reform methods of Doi Moi during his visit to Vietnam.

In an article titled "Vietnam Promotes Economic Development," Rodong Sinmun praised Vietnam's economy as having great growth potential. The article said: "Today, the ruling party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese government... are striving for economic reform along with strengthening the socialist system. Vietnam has great potential for economic development."
According to the Rodong Sinmun, Vietnam is currently trying to rebalance its economy, which is largely dependent on the agricultural sector. The article may reflect North Korea's interest in Vietnam's Doi Moi reforms as a good example for Pyongyang to learn from.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Hanoi on February 26 to attend a summit with US President Donald Trump on February 27-28. After the summit, the North Korean leader will stay in Vietnam until March 2 for an "official friendly visit"./.
