Chinese media criticizes US President's statement
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 7, China Daily, China's largest English-language newspaper, published a commentary describing US President Donald Trump's belief that falling Chinese stocks are a sign that Washington is winning the trade war as "delusional."
The newspaper also emphasized that this is proof of Mr. Trump's "ability to exaggerate the truth".

The commentary represents an increasingly provocative stance by China toward President Trump, a shift from its previous approach, which largely refrained from direct criticism of U.S. policies. The paper said China’s stock market had been underperforming even before the tariffs, and that the decline was partly due to Beijing’s efforts to reduce its debt.
A day earlier, the People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, also directly criticized President Trump, saying that he was playing the leading role in his own "deceitful and deceitful drama" of blackmail and intimidation.
