V-League media during the time of Mr. Tu
(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, there have been 1,038,800 spectators coming to the stadium (average: 6,492 people/match) to cheer for V-League 2018 matches, an increase of more than 16% compared to last year.
Thien Truong Stadium, Hanoi is leading in both the number of spectators and the increase in the number of spectators compared to last season. Meanwhile, Cam Pha Stadium, Hoa Xuan of Than Quang Ninh and SHB.Da Nang have seen a decrease in the number of spectators. V-League media, during the time of Mr. Tu, has affected the number of spectators coming to this stadium.
Right after taking over the V-League, Mr. Tu requested that clubs must have fanpages to connect the community and the club. Although, up to now, many clubs do not have professional staff so the number of pages is not enough, but there are also teams, professional activities, and player activities that are regularly updated.

We can mention the pages of SLNA, Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Nam Dinh... recently Hanoi Fan Club successfully organized a livestream to interact with Hoang Vu Samson in Binh Duong. Events, parades and cheering activities on the field were announced to fans, making the atmosphere on the field more exciting.
Up to now, the performance of the Southern team has been quite poor, but the audience at Thien Truong Stadium is highly appreciating the organization and activities.
For 3 seasons, from 2015 - 2017, all V-League matches were broadcast live on VPF's YouTube channel. Accordingly, all 7 weekly V-League matches were produced and broadcast for free by VPF's partners.
Many football fields, due to the arising interests, have not cooperated or caused difficulties for VPF partners when reporting live, suing each other in the newspapers. In fact, there are good matches, the number of viewers watching on YouTube has reached millions, the spread of V-League has gone beyond national borders thanks to the internet.
According to calculations by VPF partners, broadcasting V-League matches for free will promote their programs more, and also generate revenue from advertising on YouTube.

In fact, many matches broadcast on YouTube only attracted 85,000 - 90,000 views but the number of spectators coming to the stadium decreased dramatically, averaging 2,000 - 3,000 people. Therefore, in the 2018 season, right after running the tournaments, Mr. Tu immediately stopped broadcasting the matches for free on the YouTube channel.
VPF does not want viewers to get into the habit of waiting for the broadcast on YouTube instead of watching live on TV or going to the stadium, which would greatly affect the interests of V-League sponsors and the station's advertising revenue.
On the other hand, although there is no production cost, VPF's partners unintentionally create their own audience for YouTube or platforms like Facebook thanks to attractive content that they do not need to spend money to produce. After balancing and calculating the amount of money YouTube pays and the disadvantages of this option, Mr. Tu is more determined.
Obviously, Mr. Tu's calculation is the calculation of football businessmen, looking at long-term benefits, accepting to give up the "piece of cake" in front of them. VPF does not want to create exclusive content for YouTube or Facebook for football matches in V.league, because for a country with a large number of football fans like Vietnam, this is a large customer base, and many media units are interested.
Changing the audience's habits is not easy, but the increase in the number of viewers coming to the stadium, especially after the successes of the U23 Vietnam team and the Vietnam Olympic team, has given VPF more confidence. After 1 year of implementing the new communication plan, VPF will make adjustments so that the audience can interact on fanpages and come to the stadium more.
