From October 1: Selling train tickets for Lunar New Year 2019

Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) said that it is expected that during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2019, the unit will provide the market with about 14,000 seats per day, and will start selling from October 1.

Accordingly, for the North-South railway route: During Tet (from January 23 to February 22, 2019), in addition to the daily train pairs (5 pairs of unified trains and 5 pairs of regional trains on the Hanoi - Vinh, Saigon - Quy Nhon, Saigon - Nha Trang and Saigon - Phan Thiet routes), VNR will increase 15 more train pairs (including 7 pairs of unified trains and 8 pairs of regional passenger trains on the North-South route).

Specifically: Run 5 more pairs of trains SE11/SE12, TN5/TN6, SE19/SE20, TN1/TN2, TN3/TN4 daily between Hanoi - Saigon and vice versa. Of which, 3 pairs of trains SE11/SE12, TN5/TN6, SE19/SE20 will run continuously during Tet holidays. Bringing the total number of Thong Nhat trains running continuously during Tet to 8 pairs/day.

Before and after the Tet holiday, VNR also organizes daily extra runs of 10 pairs of regional passenger trains on the routes: Thanh Hoa - Saigon, Vinh - Saigon, Dong Hoi - Saigon, Nha Trang - Saigon... In particular, 2 pairs of trains SE25/SE26 between Quang Ngai - Saigon and trains SE21/SE22 between Da Nang - Saigon will run extra runs throughout the 2019 Tet holiday.

Thus, during the peak days of Lunar New Year, VNR runs 24 pairs of trains on the North-South railway route, with a total of about 14,000 seats/day.

For other railway routes: In addition to existing trains, VNR will organize additional trains to best serve passenger needs.

Currently, railway transport companies are accepting group ticket registrations at ticket sales points until September 20, 2018.

From 8:00 a.m. on October 1, 2018, VNR will sell train tickets for the Lunar New Year 2019 to passengers through the following forms:

- Sell tickets online via website: www.dsvn.vn; vetau.com.vn.

- At stations, ticket offices and ticket agents of Vietnam Railways.

- Via Momo e-wallet application.

- Via ticket sales hotline: 1900 0109 (Hanoi); or 1900 1520 (Saigon).

VNR notes that, with the form of buying tickets online, passengers can pay online or pay by collection methods such as: Payoo e-wallet, MoMo e-wallet, VNPost and at banks linked with Napas.
