From January 2016, district medical centers will be merged.
On December 30, at the conference on Innovation of the local health system, Mr. Pham Van Tac, Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel (Ministry of Health) said that administrative reform at the provincial level will be implemented from January 2016 following the US CDC model (disease control).
Accordingly, the preventive medical centers, HIV/AIDS prevention centers, and social disease prevention centers will be merged into a unified unit. Mr. Tac added that with the new regulations, the leadership title standards require leaders to have a postgraduate degree and a certificate in health sector management training.
