According to Circular 17/2018 regulating the equipment of weapons, military explosives, and support tools effective from July 1, professional units of the Ministry of Public Security, prisons, provincial police, district, town police... are considered to be equipped with weapons and support tools such as: pistols, rifles, submachine guns, medium machine guns, heavy machine guns, mortars, DKZ guns, armed helicopters, personal anti-tank missiles...

The Circular stipulates that the Minister of Public Security decides to equip the entire force with weapons, military explosives, support tools... In addition to the police, security forces of agencies, organizations, enterprises; banks; hospitals; economic zones, industrial zones, export processing zones... will be considered for equipment of the following types of support tools: electric guns, explosive guns, pepper spray, electric batons, metal batons, rubber batons, body armor, knife-catching gloves...
