From September 1st, 2013, students in particularly disadvantaged areas will receive rice support.

(Baonghean.vn) –This is the content of Decision No. 36/2013/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the issuance of a policy to support rice for students in schools in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.

Accordingly, students eligible for rice support include:

Primary and lower secondary school students attending ethnic minority boarding schools; and boarding students attending public primary and lower secondary schools in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.

Students from mountainous regions.

Students who are ethnic minorities and whose parents or legal guardians have permanent residence in communes or villages with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, are not eligible for boarding school benefits, and whose homes are far away or whose terrain makes it impossible to travel to and from school within a single day, are currently studying at high schools and multi-level schools.

The support level is 15kg of rice per month per student, from the national rice reserve.
