From April 15, bonus points will be removed in admission to grades 6 and 10.
Students who win provincial prizes in the 9th grade excellent student contest, international letter writing contest, Phu Dong sports festival... will not receive extra points.
The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Circular 05 amending and supplementing a number of articles in the regulations on secondary and high school admissions. FromOn April 15, the regulation on adding bonus points in admission to grades 6 and 10 will be abolished. As for general vocational exam scores, the Departments of Education have regulations on adding bonus points, which will be applied in admission for the 2018-2019 school year.
Previously, Circular 11 of 2014 allowed the Department of Education to prescribe bonus points for each type of subject eligible for incentive benefits. Some Departments such as Hanoi proposed many categories eligible for bonus points such as: having a general vocational certificate in the exam organized by the Department at the secondary school level;Won prizes at provincial level or higher in 9th grade cultural competitions; international letter writing contest; solving math problems on handheld calculators; Phu Dong Sports Festival... Bonus points from 0.5 to 2.
From April 15, 2018, admission to junior high school and high school will no longer have incentive points. |
"The regulation of adding bonus points is one of the reasons for the increase in the number of local competitions, putting pressure on students and not receiving social approval,"Deputy Director of Secondary Education Nguyen Xuan Thanh explained.
ThoseStudents who win national and international prizes in culture, arts, sports, and national science and technology competitions for middle and high school students will still be admitted directly to high school, according to Circular 05.
This document also limits the difference in scores between the two priority groups to 0.5, on a scale of 10. Students who are given priority points include: children of martyrs, war invalids, and sick soldiers who have lost 81% or more of their working capacity, children of heroes of the armed forces, heroes of labor, etc.
An important new point in the revised circular is to expand the method of admission to grade 6 for secondary schools withThe number of registrations is more than the quota. These schoolsAdmission can be by examination or by combining examination with testing and assessment of capacity, after receiving instructions from the Department of Education.
