The Ministry of Information and Communications has announced the adjustment of the analog TV shutdown time of 15 provinces in Group II to August 15, 2017, instead of July 1, 2017 as previously planned.

The deadline for switching off analog TV signals in 15 provinces has been adjusted to August 15, 2017.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued Notice No. 135/TB-BTTTT dated June 21, 2017 on adjusting the time to turn off analog terrestrial television signals in 15 provinces and cities under Group II. Accordingly, based on the implementation of support for digital terrestrial television in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tien Giang;

To ensure that poor and near-poor households in the provinces receive full support for digital terrestrial television receivers before stopping broadcasting analog terrestrial television, Head of the Steering Committee for the Vietnam Television Digitalization Project - Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan has concluded on adjusting the time to stop broadcasting analog terrestrial television in Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tien Giang as follows:

From August 15, 2017, all analog terrestrial TV channels will be stopped in the above 15 provinces (for main broadcasting stations).

For analog terrestrial television rebroadcast stations in the 15 provinces mentioned above, the time to stop broadcasting analog terrestrial television will be considered and decided by the Steering Committee of the Vietnam Television Digitalization Project in the coming time.

Previously, at the 12th meeting, the Steering Committee of the Television Digitalization Project decided that the provinces in group 2 that have been covered by digital terrestrial television, have been supported with receivers for part of their area according to the old standard, or have covered part of their area including: Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai, Long An, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang will stop broadcasting analog television (main broadcasting stations) before July 1, 2017.
