From drug addict to heroin transporter
(Baonghean.vn) - As a drug addict, Linh often went into the forest to ask for drugs from his drug addict friends to use. Once, when his friend gave him drugs and promised to pay him 10 million VND, Linh agreed to transport many packages of opium.
On December 27, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendant Luong Van Linh (born 1997), residing in Binh Chuan commune, Con Cuong district, for the crime of"Illegal transportation of drugs".
Linh often went to the Dua village area, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district to ask for drugs to use. Here, Linh met and often used drugs with two men named Quy and Tuan.

At 7:00 p.m. on August 18, 2022, Linh went to the same place to ask for drugs and met a drug addict friend. After using drugs with his friend, Linh was asked by Quy to deliver drugs for a salary of 10 million. Linh was given drugs to use and promised to pay him, so he agreed.
Quy drove a motorbike carrying Linh carrying drugs to deliver to a customer. At 10 p.m. the same day, Linh carried many packages of drugs to deliver to a customer standing near a car on Highway 7A, in Chau Khe Commune, Con Cuong District, when he was arrested by the police with more than 377 grams of evidence. At this time, the drug buyer and Quy quickly ran away.
At the trial, the defendant confessed honestly and repented of his crimes. Linh confessed that because of his addiction, he often begged for drugs to use. Also because of his addiction, he agreed to transport drugs. The defendant asked the court to consider reducing his sentence so that he could start his life over.
After a comprehensive review of the case, the panel sentenced Luong Van Linh to 20 years in prison for illegally transporting drugs. As for Quy, the investigation agency summoned him but he did not admit it, so there was no basis for prosecution.
