From 'village beauty' to international playground of young female model from Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - 2019 is considered the year of model Hoang Hanh when she represented Vietnam in the Miss Earth contest. To achieve this success, the girl from Nghe An, born in 1992, had to go through many difficulties and hardships. Hoang Hanh shared with Nghe An Newspaper about her past journey.
- When she was in 8th grade, her family sent Hanh to Taekwondo class and lived with her friends at the provincial Sports Training Center, more than 100km away from home and only occasionally visited home. Hanh started competing from there and was lucky to bring home many medals such as the Gold Medal of the Northern Taekwondo Championship, Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals of the National Youth Competition... Having been involved in Taekwondo for many years, at that time, she did not think she would join showbiz or compete in beauty pageants because girls who study martial arts look manly like men. The journey has passed, although life at that time was not financially abundant, it was full of passion and very happy...
When she was 17-18 years old, Hanh was injured while competing so she temporarily stopped practicing Taekwondo. One year, Hanh returned to her hometown and Thai Hoa town organized the Miss Vac Village contest. Everyone in the commune encouraged Hanh to compete because Hanh was the tallest girl in the village. Curious and also wanting everyone to be happy, Hanh competed and luckily won first prize. After that, Hanh was chosen to represent the town in the Miss Sen Village contest at the provincial level and was lucky enough to win first prize again. During the entire competition, Hanh seemed to know nothing, from transportation to clothes, all were supported by her brothers and sisters in the commune. This was probably a turning point for Hanh and brought job opportunities for her to change direction in showbiz.
- In 2019, Hoang Hanh represented Vietnam in the Miss Earth contest. I also watched the clip of Hoang Hanh introducing Vietnamese culture and people, including images of Nghe An. What does Hanh want to convey through this clip, especially to the land that gave birth to her?
- That video, Hanh and the crew went to Nghe An - her hometown to film and spent a lot of time visiting all the scenic spots in her hometown. The crew was also very pleased because Nghe An has a lotus lake, Uncle Ho's house in the past and that is the pride of Nghe An people in particular and Vietnam in general. Through this introduction, Hanh wants to let everyone know more about her hometown Nghe An as well as bring its own culture to international friends and show Hanh's gratitude to the land that gave birth and raised her. Hanh wants to tell the young generation of Nghe An to try and strive to change the lives and future of their hometown.
-Although she did not reach the final prize, Hoang Hanh still made her mark through the Miss Earth contest with a 5th place in the medal tally with 1 gold medal and 2 bronze medals. Can Hanh share more about this contest and what is the greatest thing that Hanh achieved after this contest?
- Miss Earth is the 10th beauty pageant that Hanh has participated in, so this is also the last playground of Hoang Hanh's youth. To prepare for Miss Earth, Hanh and her team spent several months taking care of logistics. This is a very large playground, so the pressure on Hanh is not small. She has to study English with two teachers a day, learn vocal music, go to the gym, prepare costumes, film videos, do legal procedures... After a month of participating in the contest in the Philippines, although she did not win a high prize, Hanh is proud that she has brought the image of Vietnamese women to the international arena and is loved by everyone. The greatest thing that Hanh has achieved is the love of her fans at home. Everyone sent messages of encouragement and support to Hanh on social networks, so Hanh sees that as a motivation to try harder every day.
- Hoang Hanh in 2019 is busy with many projects and many interesting plans. So, every year when Spring comes, does Hanh often return to her hometown and what do you remember about the taste of Tet in her hometown?
- There is no year that Hanh does not return to her hometown during Tet. No matter how busy she is, Hanh must return to her hometown to be with her family. That is a sacred thing that cannot be replaced by any material value. Hanh will go into the kitchen to help her mother and sister cook. The taste of her hometown that Hanh remembers the most is the jute soup and pickled eggplants and pickled cucumbers that Hanh's mother makes. Her mother is very skillful at cooking and very delicious. Whatever dish her mother cooks, Hanh is addicted to eating. So after each Tet holiday, Hanh usually gains a few pounds.
-Thank you Hoang Hanh for sharing and wish you more success in the upcoming journey!
