From the 2024-2025 school year, Japanese will be included in the national excellent student selection exam.
Japanese will be included in the National High School Excellence Exam from the 2024-2025 school year.
The Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training has just signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 1513/QLCL-QLT to the Departments of Education and Training: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Nghe An, Bac Giang, Binh Thuan and Hanoi National University on adding Japanese language test in the National Excellent Student Selection Exam for the 2024-2025 school year.
The document clearly states that, based on the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 5 of the Regulations on the National Excellent Student Selection Exam issued together with Circular No. 17/2023/TT-BGDDT dated October 10, 2023 of the Minister of Education and Training and the proposal of the above 9 units, the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training have agreed to organize the Japanese language exam at the National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam from the 2024-2025 school year.
Currently, the national high school exam consists of 12 subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French and Chinese. From the 2024-2025 school year, the exam will include Japanese, bringing the total number of subjects to 13.
According to the Regulations on the National Excellent Student Competition issued on October 10, 2023, from the 2023-2024 school year, the percentage of candidates winning prizes (from Encouragement and above) will not exceed 60% of the number of candidates taking the exam, an increase of 10% compared to the old Regulations.
In which, the total number of First, Second and Third prizes does not exceed 60% of the total number of prizes, the number of First prizes does not exceed 5% of the total number of prizes.
The National High School Excellence Exam is held by the Ministry of Education and Training every December. This is the largest national excellence exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The contest aims to motivate and encourage teachers and learners to promote their creativity, teach well, and learn well; contribute to promoting the improvement and enhancement of teaching and learning quality, the quality of management and direction of educational management levels; at the same time, discover learners with aptitude for the subject to create a source of training, realizing the goal of training talents for the country.
Point a, Clause 1, Article 5 of the Regulations on national excellent student selection exams issued together with Circular No. 17/2023/TT-BGDDT dated October 10, 2023 of the Minister of Education and Training stipulates as follows:
For the national exam for excellent students, exams will be held in the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography and Foreign Languages (English, Russian, French, Chinese). Exams will only be considered for subjects with at least 5 registered units or more. Adjustments to exam subjects (if any) will be considered and decided by the Minister of Education and Training.
