From December 7, electric motorbikes must have license plates registered.

The Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police (PC67) has just announced that from December 7, all electric motorbikes must register their license plates to serve management purposes.

Specifically, Department PC67 said that, based on Circular No. 54/2015 on handling registration and license plate issuance for motorbikes - electric motorbikes (adding Article 25a to Circular No. 15/2014 of the Ministry of Public Security), from December 7, motorbikes - electric motorbikes must complete license plate registration procedures.

“If after June 30, 2016, vehicle owners do not register their vehicles but still use them on the road, they will violate the law and will be severely punished,” a representative of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department emphasized.

Regarding the procedures for registering license plates for motorbikes and electric motorbikes, PC67 said that people need to go to the Vehicle Management Teams at the Police Department of each district to complete the procedures.

When coming to do the procedure, you need to prepare the relevant documents: Registration form for motorbikes - electric motorbikes (according to the form); Photocopy of household registration book (in case the vehicle owner is an individual); letter of introduction from the agency or organization (in case the vehicle owner is an agency or organization);

Present the ID card or citizen identification card of the person registering the vehicle; in case the vehicle owner is an individual, present the original Household Registration Book for verification.

Within a maximum of 2 working days from the date of receiving complete and valid documents, the vehicle registration authority shall issue a vehicle registration certificate to the vehicle owner.

For vehicles without engine numbers that the vehicle registration authority cannot stamp, the vehicle registration certificate issued to the vehicle owner will write the word "none" in the "engine number" section.
