Suicide by homemade mine after injecting heroin

(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Luong Thinh Vuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune (Ky Son, Nghe An) confirmed that a suicide mine explosion had just occurred in the area, causing Mr. Vi Van Mang (residing in Cu village) to die on the spot.

The incident happened at around 12 noon today at Mang’s home. At that time, Mang was having an addiction attack and injected heroin. After that, he went into the room, hugged the homemade mine to his chest and detonated it. The mine exploded, killing Mang on the spot.

After the incident, the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune sent forces to protect the scene, coordinate with Ky Son district police to examine the scene and perform an autopsy to investigate the incident.

However, determining this to be a suicide, the family has a written guarantee not to request the authorities to perform an autopsy and hand over the body to the family for burial.

According to Mr. Vuong, Mr. Vi Van Mang is a long-term drug addict. His wife and two daughters left him 3-4 years ago.
