From the found phone SIM, 2 party members were expelled.

Thanks to the found phone SIM card with photos and more than 2,000 phone calls, the Inspection Committee determined the illicit relationship between Mr. Pham Thanh Dien and Pham Thi Ngoc Anh.

On the morning of June 1, Mr. Nguyen Van On - Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of An Phu District Party Committee, An Giang, said that the Standing Committee of An Phu District Party Committee had just held a secret meeting on the afternoon of May 31, deciding to discipline Mr. Pham Thanh Dien - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Hoi Commune and Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Anh - Propaganda Officer of Phu Hoi Commune by expelling them from the Party.

According to Mr. On, the District Party Committee's Inspection Committee previously received a petition and over 2,000 phone recordings provided by Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong - a fisheries officer of Vinh Hoi Dong commune, An Phu district, denouncing the illicit relationship between his wife (Ms. Ngoc Anh) and Mr. Dien.

After 7 months of verification and investigation, the Inspection Committee has now confirmed that Mr. Dien and Ms. Anh had a relationship that was above normal and participated in lottery and number betting.

According to Mr. On, the reason the verification and handling took so long was because the accused were Party members of the commune, so the authority to resolve the case was the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee.

"In addition, the time Mr. Khuong complained fell during the time of personnel preparation and election service. I listened to these thousands of audio files for nearly a month before completing them, and then together with the police, verified and investigated them," said Mr. On.

According to Mr. On, Mr. Dien and Ms. Anh have gone to Dong Nai so we cannot contact them yet. They have submitted a resignation letter but the district has not yet processed it.

Mr. Khuong was also accused by Mr. Dien and Ms. Anh, so the case is now being handled by the Vinh Hoi Dong Commune Party Committee (because he is a regular Party member). Mr. Khuong has also submitted an application to leave the Party but it has not been approved.

“In the next few days, if Mr. Dien and Ms. Anh do not return, the District Party Committee will announce the decision to expel these two people from the Party to the Phu Hoi Commune Party Committee. As for Mr. Khuong, we will continue to verify and handle the matter later,” said Mr. On.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre, Mr. Huynh Thanh Danh, Secretary of An Phu District Party Committee, said that after expelling these two people from the Party, the Inspection Committee will continue to consolidate the dossier to mention the role and responsibility of Phu Hoi Commune Party Committee, why there were so many bad opinions and violations.

Previously, on October 8, 2015, a resident picked up a phone, SIM card and memory card containing photos of Mr. Dien, Ms. Anh and over 2,000 call recordings, so they gave them to Mr. Khuong.

Then, Mr. Khuong made a report with an audio file and sent a complaint to the Phu Hoi Commune Party Committee.

According to Tuoi Tre
