In the morning, delegates worked in groups, discussing the report reviewing the leadership and direction of the Politburo and Secretariat in 2017.

In the afternoon, delegates studied and directly commented on the draft documents of the conference.
Previously, the Central Committee listened to and discussed three important projects: Project on Focusing on Building a Team of Cadres at All Levels, Especially at the Strategic Level, with Adequate Capacity, Qualities and Prestige, Equal to the Task; Project on Reforming Salary Policy for Cadres, Civil Servants, Public Employees, Armed Forces and Employees in Enterprises; and Project on Reforming Social Insurance Policy.
The Central Committee also discussed and gave opinions on personnel work. Specifically, the Central Committee elected two additional members of the Secretariat; voted to allow Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat, to cease holding the position of member of the Central Inspection Committee and Chairman of the 12th Central Inspection Committee; elected Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee...
