(Baonghean) - Question: I understand that besides hotel and restaurant management programs, Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce also offers other programs. What are these programs, and what is the admission process?

Reply:The Nghe An Vocational College of Tourism and Commerce has been operating for nearly 20 years. Over the years, the college has been highly regarded for training human resources for the hotel, tourism, and restaurant industries. In addition, the college has a Faculty of Economics and Commerce offering majors such as business administration, corporate accounting, public sector accounting, financial accounting, and banking and finance. Its strengths lie in business administration-related fields such as management in restaurants, supermarkets, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

To meet teaching and learning demands, the department currently has a teaching staff of 22 people, of whom over 90% hold master's degrees, and 3 are pursuing doctoral studies. Students at the department are equipped with fundamental knowledge of finance and accounting, as well as the necessary experience to work in commercial sectors. In particular, to facilitate students' access to employment after graduation, the department emphasizes training that connects theory with practice, through a model of practical accounting work in businesses (also known as virtual accounting). Through this training model, students develop daily accounting work habits in businesses, such as processing documents, recording accounting entries, preparing financial statements, management reports, tax reports, and computerized accounting in businesses. This helps them acquire the necessary knowledge and skills relevant to real-world situations when working in businesses.

The department also places great emphasis on student employment. Through partnerships with nearly 60 businesses, students have numerous opportunities to intern at restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers in the province. In addition, the department annually facilitates internships at large enterprises both within and outside the province. Students with strong academic performance and fluent foreign language skills have the opportunity to intern abroad.

According to the annual enrollment target, the department recruits approximately 300 students in both college and vocational programs. The admission method is selection based on academic records, and selection is conducted continuously throughout the year.
