Death by shotgun misfire

(Baonghean.vn)- On October 26, Mr. Vieng Van Ngo, Chief of Tam Hop Commune Police (Tuong Duong District), said that a gun accident had just occurred in the area, killing one victim.

The victim was identified as Mr. Vi Van Doan (born in 1960), residing in Phong village, Tam Hop commune. According to Mr. Ngo, on the morning of October 25, Mr. Vi Van Doan and his wife went to the family's hut in the C5 Ken Ta area. Leaving his wife in the hut, Mr. Doan took a homemade gun into the forest to hunt. At around 9:00 a.m. the same day, on the way back from hunting, Mr. Doan slipped and fell, causing the homemade gun he was holding to go off, causing the bullet to pierce his thigh.

Seriously injured, Mr. Doan tried to crawl back to the hut to call his wife and everyone for help. Although the locals helped carry him out of the forest and take him to the hospital, due to the severity of his injuries, the victim died at 11am the same day when he returned to Phong village.

On October 26, relatives and family held a funeral for the victim according to local customs.
