Ramadan Week: The wave of jihad begins to rise.
(Baonghean.vn) - A business leader was beheaded in southern France, 38 people died in a hotel shooting in Tunisia, more than 150 people died in an attack in Kobani, dozens more died in a church attack in Kuwait and at a military base in Somalia: although only two weeks have passed since the start of Ramadan, jihadist attacks are showing alarming signs of increasing.

During the second week of Ramadan, a surge in violence targeting Muslims occurred. Beginning on June 25th, the OSDH reported that at least 164 civilians were killed in an attack carried out by ISIS in the city of Kobani, Syria.

Then, on June 26th, the whole of France was shocked to learn that a man had been beheaded in Saint Quentin Fallavier, near Lyon. This was the first beheading incident in France. Officials quickly identified the attacker as Yassin Salhi, 35 years old, who was involved in the "Salfist movement"—a Sunni Muslim group.
Also on Friday, a bloody attack occurred at the Sousse Hotel in Tunisia, killing 38 people, mostly British. The gun was concealed in an umbrella and brought into the hotel before the attacker opened fire on the guests. He was later shot dead. Initial reports from Tunisian authorities identified the attacker as Seifeddine Rezgui, a Tunisian of Gaafour descent, born in 1992. Following the attack, ISIS claimed responsibility.

In Kuwait, an attack on a Shiite mosque in the capital killed 27 people and injured 222 others. ISIS also claimed responsibility for the attack. And in Somalia, the Shabab Islamist group attacked an African Union (AU) military base in Lego, killing dozens of soldiers.
A series of bloody attacks in recent days has led many to recall a recent call to action by ISIS. On June 17th, the first day of Ramadan, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria called on the global Muslim community to join a holy war against "infidels" on the occasion of Ramadan. Although there is no apparent link between the attacks, the sudden surge in violence has caused concern among authorities and people worldwide.
