Pencil bags shaped like fish of all sizes and colors are being sold everywhere in Hanoi for 120,000 - 190,000 VND each.

On social network Facebook and Hanoi market are flooded with offers and advertisements for fish-shaped bags that look real.

According to the reporter’s research, there are 2 types of fish-shaped bags on the market, 3D printed and regular printed. Each type has 2 different sizes: small size 18 – 23 cm, large size about 25 cm. Most grocery stores, stationery shops, and student markets often import the regular printed type to sell because it is cheaper.

The price of a fish-printed pencil case usually ranges from 120,000 to 150,000 VND/piece (depending on size). The 3D printed type costs 160,000 to 190,000 VND/piece.

Customers who buy this type of bag are usually students and some office ladies. Fish-shaped pencil bags are very popular because of their eye-catching shapes and colors such as pomfret, mackerel, black carp, red tilapia, etc.

Truong Thanh Mai (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi), who is selling this type of bag, said that the black carp bag is the most ordered, sometimes "out of stock".

According to Mai, the above bags are made from glossy fabric, some are 3D printed to create a realistic feeling when looking at and touching.

“Many traders said that this type of bag originated from China. Even the products have Chinese labels,” Mai said.

On Facebook, this type of bag has attracted the attention of many young people. However, some people say that the bag looks too much like a real fish, making many people think of the “fish deaths in Central Vietnam” incident.
