The National Spring Press Festival 2010 was a resounding success.

In the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the glorious 80th anniversary of the Party and welcoming the new spring, this morning, at the Giang Vo Exhibition Center in Hanoi, the opening ceremony of the National Spring Press Festival 2010 (Year of the Tiger) took place from February 4th to 7th, 2010.

Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong - Member of the Political Bureau, Chairman of the National Assembly; Central Committee members: Le Doan Hop - Minister of Information and Communications; Dinh The Huynh - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper - Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Nguyen Bac Son - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; representatives from central ministries and agencies, Hanoi city, and journalists' associations from provinces and cities nationwide attended the event.

Following the opening remarks by the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Dinh The Huynh, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong delivered a speech acknowledging the significant growth and maturity of Vietnam's revolutionary press, and commended the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Ministry of Information and Communications, along with journalists' associations nationwide, for organizing the Spring Press Festival. He expressed his hope that the press today will continue to uphold the tradition of revolutionary journalism, fulfilling its mission and purpose for the cause of the Party, the country, and the entire people, contributing to accelerating the industrialization and modernization of the country, and working towards the goal of a prosperous people, a strong nation, and a just, democratic, and civilized society.

This year's Spring Press Festival features 67 participating media organizations with 114 booths displaying publications, introducing Tet (Lunar New Year) publications for the Year of the Tiger, radio and television programs, and online newspapers to serve the people during the spring festival; showcasing achievements and developments in modern journalistic technology, and holding a competition for designing Tet-themed newspaper and magazine covers.

At the end of the Spring Press Festival, all exhibited publications will be donated to border and island soldiers. In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communications will select outstanding publications to be displayed in Paris.

The exhibition booth of the Nghe An Journalists Association brought together all the spring editions of newspapers from the following publications: Nghe An, Nghe An Police, Nghe An Labor, Military Region 4, Song Lam Magazine, Nghe An Culture Magazine, Nghe An Journalists Magazine, and the exhibition of Nghe An Radio and Television Station. Party and State leaders and numerous colleagues visited, acknowledged, and highly appreciated the contributions of Nghe An's press at the Spring Press Festival.
