Exciting Red-whiskered Bulbul Contest to Welcome the New Year

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of December 31, in Vinh City, the Red-whiskered Bulbul singing contest took place to welcome the new year 2018.

The bird contest gathered nearly 160 bird cages of many artisans from Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Bac Giang provinces, organized by Ornamental Bird Club 113 of the Vinh City Ornamental Plants Association.

To ensure fairness, all birds that come to compete are given a "registration number" which is hung under the bird cage.

Each bird breeder usually takes the trouble to raise many birds, but only brings one or a few to the competition. Birds that have ruffled crests, preened feathers, sing poorly, etc. will be eliminated in each round. Photo: Huy Thu

After 4 hours of competition, the organizers selected beautiful birds with good singing voices to award prizes. First, second and third prizes all belonged to Mr. Cuong Viet Duc (Blue Bird Club - Ha Tinh). Mr. Thang (Vinh Tan Bird Club, Vinh City) shared third prize.
