Short of money, broke into uncle's safe to steal gold
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 23, Nghi Loc District Police arrested Vo Van Hung (born in 1994), residing in Hamlet 7, Nghi Dien Commune, for theft of property.
Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on February 22, Vo Van Hung rode a motorbike with license plate 37M1 5744 to the house of his uncle, Mr. Nguyen Ba Thuy (born in 1969) in hamlet 7, Nghi Cong Bac commune.

Seeing that the door was unlocked, Hung entered the house and had the intention of stealing. He stole the family's 95kg safe along with a sledgehammer, then covered it with a tarpaulin and used a motorbike to transport it to Nghi Cong Bac cemetery. There, Hung used a sledgehammer to break the safe and took 12 taels of gold. He brought this amount of gold to Vinh city to sell for 34 million 420 thousand VND.

At 7 p.m. the same day, Mr. Thuy's family discovered that the safe was missing and reported the incident to the authorities. After conducting an investigation, Nghi Loc District Police determined that Vo Van Hung had committed the theft and arrested the suspect. The case is currently under further investigation.
