Establish "Rapid Response" teams

In order to promptly and effectively carry out the tasks assigned by the superior Youth Union, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union has recently directed 35 affiliated Youth Unions to establish Rapid Response Teams throughout the province.

In mountainous areas - where many workers work in foreign markets such as Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Quy Hop, Quy Chau... the Rapid Response Teams promptly coordinated with the district police force and agencies, departments and branches to review and make a list of workers moving from epidemic areas back to the locality.

With a flexible and proactive spirit in performing tasks, new data is always updated by the Rapid Response Team every day, which is an important basis to help local authorities do a good job of monitoring and propagating in epidemic prevention and control.

The Rapid Response Teams of the districts have established many propaganda groups with the key factor being the cadres of the Indigenous People's Union. From there, the groups will be assigned to each area to go to each village and hamlet to directly explain clearly to the people about the necessary information. Thanks to that, the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic has always received the attention and support of the people. People's awareness of disease prevention has also been significantly improved.

As of March 10, through the key activities of the Rapid Response Teams of 35 Youth Union chapters in the province, Nghe An youth have distributed more than 150,000 free medical masks; nearly 10,000 bottles of antiseptic solution and hand soap. At the same time, the teams helped people in Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces rescue hundreds of tons of watermelon, durian and various types of seafood.

Creativity in propaganda work

To improve the effectiveness of propaganda on radio channels, Nghi Loc youth have created many new forms of propaganda work. Accordingly, the District Youth Union has coordinated with doctors and nurses in the "Young Doctors" Club and representatives of departments and branches to build a District Youth Newsletter.

In the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the editorial team of Nghi Loc District Youth News quickly gathered the latest data and information on the epidemic situation to propagate accurately and with high orientation.

After the newsletter is completed, the Team will send this newsletter to each commune and town level Youth Union to broadcast on the radio system. With careful investment in content, form and voice, the newsletter has created a deep and wide effect on all classes of people in the entire district.

Along with that, the use of websites and fanpages on Facebook to propagate ways to prevent and control epidemics has also been effectively implemented by local Youth Union organizations. In addition to illustrative materials, Nghi Loc youth also launched many forms of online interaction to guide proper hand washing and hygiene during the epidemic season...

The District Youth Unions of Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Que Phong... also created many positive highlights in propaganda work.

Nghe An Provincial Youth Union has also increased propaganda through vivid visual forms such as launching an online quiz contest "Learning about and preventing acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus" on the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Facebook page. The contest has contributed to raising awareness and understanding of the disease and prevention methods for the community and attracted thousands of union members and young people to participate.

Make your own safe mask

To meet the demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, the youth of Hung Nguyen district coordinated with the district Women's Union to make safe masks together.

With the necessary materials including good quality tissue paper, elastic bands and staples, the youth union members have invented a 4-layer mask with all the functions of a medical mask in epidemic prevention and safety for the user's health. Because it is made of paper, the mask is very biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

On the first day of operation, the youth union members made more than 100 masks and distributed them for free to officials, employees and some people for trial use. With the high appreciation of users, the volunteer team will continue to replicate the model to improve the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control.
