Beautify the image of youth volunteers

The “Summer Youth Volunteers” campaign is a key activity in the annual work program of the Youth Union and Association at all levels. This year, when the Covid-19 epidemic was pushed back and a new normal state was established, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee chose Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district - a mountainous commune in Western Nghe An, bordering Laos to organize the Campaign Launch Ceremony.

This is also the area where more than 8 years ago, the Central Youth Union Secretariat assigned the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee to build a Border Youth Village for the period 2013 - 2020, now the location of the 9th Youth Volunteer Team.

In 2022, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is even more meaningful when the youth of the whole province are striving to compete to achieve achievements to welcome the Congresses of the Youth Union at all levels towards the 18th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province, the 12th National Youth Union Congress, term 2022 - 2027.

With the motto of action "Widespread - Safe - Effective - Sustainable", The 2022 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign continues to be deployed by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee from June 1 to August 31, focusing on 14 targets associated with 1 program and 4 campaigns associated with target groups.

Specifically: Program "Support exam season"among lecturers, teachers, young students, union members, and youth in the areas where graduation exams are held; Campaign“Green Summer”among cadres, lecturers, young teachers, students of academies, universities, colleges, vocational training institutions; Volunteer campaign"Red Royal Poinciana"among young cadres, teachers, students of high schools, continuing education centers; Volunteer campaign“Pink Holiday”among young workers and young civil servants; Campaign"Green March"in the youth union, armed forces.

In order to demonstrate the spirit of vanguard, proactive creativity in implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, the 13th National Party Congress, in addition to traditional contents, this year's campaign will have new activities to suit the context and socio-economic development situation of the country such as: Focusing on organizing care, screening for post-Covid-19 diseases for people; establishing a team "Community digital transformation"Supporting digital capacity building for youth and people. Along with that, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee focuses on implementing provincial-level youth projects, namely: Project to restore the monument "Uncle Ho with youth and youth with Uncle Ho", project "Solidarity Bridge"; "Bridge of love to take you to school".

Step by step innovation of community activities

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Ngoc Kim Nam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, affirmed that many volunteer activities have left a deep impression, recognized, highly appreciated and supported by Party committees, authorities and people at all levels. In particular, during the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the green shirts of union members and young people participating in volunteering to support functional forces in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic have portrayed the spirit of shock, volunteerism and responsibility of the youth.

The Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is an opportunity for the youth of the whole province to demonstrate their youthfulness, pioneering spirit, and aspiration to contribute in continuing to promote, concretize, and implement the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, while at the same time, the Youth Union at all levels strive to reach the finish line and complete the targets set by the 17th Provincial Youth Union Congress and the 12th National Youth Union Congress.

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission hopes that Nghe An youth need to continue researching and innovating methods, organizing volunteer activities in a creative direction, strongly applying science and technology, and digital transformation; the content of volunteer activities needs to be selected, invested in, aiming to improve professionalism, ensuring sustainability in each project and task.

In order for the Campaign to achieve the best results, meeting the set goals and requirements, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Le Van Luong requested that all levels of the Youth Union, Association and youth in the province promote their intelligence, desire to contribute, and volunteer spirit toSimultaneously, diversely and flexibly deploy action programs. From there, attract a large number of cadres, union members, youth and social classes to participate; maximize the volunteer spirit of the youth, each youth union member must always determine that volunteering is to contribute, to experience and mature. Activities must be specific, have the color of youth and have the mark, trust and support of the people in the locality and unit. Youth Union chapters at all levels need to consider this year's Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign as an opportunity to break through and accelerate the completion of the targets and tasks set out in 2022, term 2017 - 2022.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, more than 5,000 union members, youth and student volunteers simultaneously responded with activities such as consulting and promoting the use of online public services, organizing free health care and consultation for people, building new rural roads, making green fences, visiting village elders, building summer libraries for children, donating playgrounds, building waste collection points, and training and transferring science and technology to people.
