Nghe An youth join the campaign to make the world cleaner

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 19, in Cua Lo Town, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Campaign to Make the World Cleaner in 2016.

The program mobilized over 400 youth union members and students, unions of wards and communes, and agencies in Cua Lo town to participate in collecting garbage, rocks, and cleaning up along the beach and the grounds of Cua Lo beach area.

The beach cleaning campaign demonstrates the spirit of volunteerism and initiative of young people to participate in environmental protection and respond to climate change through practical actions. At the same time, it promotes, educates and raises awareness of young people in particular and the community in general about environmental protection, conservation and promotion of natural resources and environmental values.

The campaign mobilized more than 400 students, youth unions of wards, communes, and agencies in Cua Lo town.

After the recent flood, a lot of garbage accumulated on Cua Lo beach, especially a lot of water hyacinth drifted along the beach.

Even many logs like this drifted to Cua Lo beach and were cleared away from the beach area by the members.

Soil, rocks, and shells along the beach were sifted, picked up, and gathered ashore by students.

In addition, youth union members and students participated in raking and sifting sand along the restaurants along the beach.

The amount of waste such as soil, rock, firewood, wood, water hyacinth... is gathered and waiting to be collected and processed.

More than 2 km of coastline was collected and trash was collected, returning the environment to a green, clean, and beautiful environment.
