Nghe An youth enthusiastically participate in summer volunteer activities
(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the 2019 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, union members, youth, and students enthusiastically organized and participated in practical projects and tasks for community life.
- * On July 20, the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province coordinated with the Dien Chau Association and Hanoi Medical University to provide free medical examination and treatment and medicine to 1,000 people in Dien Truong commune (Dien Chau district).
- Nearly 30 doctors working at Hanoi Medical University, along with 70 volunteers who are members of the Dien Chau Association in Hanoi and youth union members of Dien Chau district participated in the program "Summer Sunshine 2019". The program hasexamined, provided health consultation and dispensed free medicine to nearly 1,000 subjects, including the elderly over 60 years old and women of reproductive age.

With the support of equipment such as: Ultrasound machine, blood sugar tester, electrocardiogram machine, ENT endoscope, bone density meter, GPB reader for thyroid cancer screening... people have been examined by doctors for general internal medicine, surgery, musculoskeletal examination, eye examination, ENT examination... and health care consultation and free medicine.

In addition, doctors and nurses also guide people on how to prevent and control some infectious diseases through food and drink; advise on diet for the elderly, thereby helping people raise awareness in taking care of their own health and that of their families.

* On the morning of July 20, at Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station (Quynh Luu), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union coordinated with Nghe An Provincial Youth Union to organize the launching ceremony of the "Let's clean the ocean" campaign in 2019 with the theme "Be kind to the ocean".
Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Duy Hung - Deputy Director of the National Volunteer Center; Le Van Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and representatives of the leaders of Quynh Luu district, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station and local authorities.
Lach Quen fishing port (Quynh Luu district) is one of five locations nationwide selected by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to pilot a model of waste collection and treatment. The core force participating in the campaign is youth union members in the coastal and coastal communes in the district. Accordingly, this force will carry out marine environmental sanitation activities at least once a week.

The campaign was launched with the aim of reducing the negative impacts of waste pollution, protecting the marine environment; at the same time, promoting and raising public awareness of the harmful effects of climate change on human life. The campaign attracted the participation of many union members, youth, students and people.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, more than 600 union members, youths, and armed forces of Quynh Luu district participated in collecting waste at Lach Quen fishing port and areas seriously polluted by waste.
