Que Phong Youth planted 2,200 new trees for seeds and purple cardamom
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 3, more than 250 youth union members of Que Phong district planted 1,200 new Doi trees for seeds and 1,000 purple cardamom trees in Pu Hoat Nature Reserve.
As part of the activities of Youth Month 2018, Que Phong District Youth Union Executive Committee has implemented youth projects at the suburban botanical garden of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve.
The planted area is the forest area in plot 2, sub-area 76, Na Chang village, Tien Phong commune with an area of 2.4 hectares. In 1 day, more than 250 youth union members planted 2,200 green dổi and purple cardamom trees.

Purple cardamom is a herbaceous plant that lives for many years under the forest canopy. It is a medicinal plant with many uses, easy to grow, suitable for local soil and climate conditions.

The Doi tree is a tall and straight tree, with a narrow taproot and canopy, and the largest leaf diameter is about 5m. Doi has a characteristic aroma, yellow wood grain, smooth, beautiful, durable, not susceptible to termites, not warped, used to make utensils and handicrafts. Doi seeds are a traditional medicine that stimulates digestion, treats stomachaches and indigestion. The bark also has a fever-reducing effect. In particular, the demand for using Doi seeds as a spice is increasingly popular.

This is a youth project that initiates the activities of Que Phong district youth to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the 55th anniversary of the founding of Que Phong district".
