Youth patrol bilaterally to protect Vietnam - Laos border
(Baonghean.vn) - From November 26 to 28, the youth of Tam Hop Border Post, Nghe An Border Guard coordinated with Border Guard Company 251 - Military Command of Bolikhamxay province, Laos to organize bilateral patrols to protect the border and border markers of Vietnam - Laos.
The Tam Hop Border Post force is commanded by Captain Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Station Commander; the 251st Company is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Bo Keo, Company Commander.

The bilateral patrol force conducted a closed patrol of the Vietnam - Laos border from the area of landmark No. 425 (at an altitude of 1,375m above sea level) to the area of landmark No. 426 with a length of 3km. After the bilateral patrol, the Tam Hop Border Post force also patrolled the area of landmark No. 426.2 (at an altitude of 1,767m above sea level).

The forces of both sides overcame the difficulties of weather (rain) and difficult terrain to check the status of border markers, clear bushes to clear the view and clean up around the border marker area, and exchange contents related to border protection work... Both sides have properly implemented the principles, protocols, and procedures in foreign affairs activities. As a result, the border markings have not been moved, and the border markers are guaranteed to be intact and safe.

After the bilateral patrol ended, the two sides held a meeting to review experiences, discuss some related situations, sign minutes and agree on the next patrols.
Captain Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Head of Tam Hop Border Post, said: This is an activity that the unit regularly coordinates with other forces to promptly detect violations of border regulations, resolve incidents occurring on the border; coordinate to protect the common border, maintain political security and social order and safety on the border. The above activity further strengthens the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between the two units in particular.
