Top US general comments on Ukraine's chances of winning
(Baonghean.vn) - Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, emphasized that the counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is still ongoing.

TASS news agency reported that Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, in an interview with The Washington Post expressed his belief that it is too early to discuss the possibility of Ukraine achieving its military goals.
Responding to the question of whether Ukraine can win, General Milley assessed: For Ukraine, this is a struggle for survival.
“If the ultimate goal is a free, independent, sovereign Ukraine with territorial integrity, then that will require significant efforts. These goals can be achieved militarily, but it will take a long time. On the other hand, they can also be achieved through diplomacy,” Milley said.
Amid speculation about peace talks between Moscow and Kiev, General Milley declined to comment on anything that might happen in the future, or on any current negotiations.
“I will just say that there are many different ways to achieve the objectives. Right now, it is too early to talk about it. This counterattack is not over yet. So we need to wait and see how it ends,” the US general emphasized.
Commenting on criticism from Republicans about the US administration's continued provision of weapons to Ukraine, General Milley said that Washington had provided Kiev with the right amount of equipment at the "right time" so that Kiev could achieve its goals.
