US general proposes competing with Moscow in military exercises |
Brigadier General John Healy has expressed a desire to expand the scope of international "defense" exercises to compete with an "ever-more-powerful" Russia, Newsweek writes.
The US-led multinational NATO alliance is conducting “mass exercises” in response to increased Russian military activity, Mr Healy said this week as he sought to involve more of Washington’s Western allies in military exercises.
According to him, holding comprehensive exercises is very important to verify NATO's readiness in a global conflict with Moscow, if current tensions develop into real confrontation.
