US General "confessed": The United States is not capable of shooting down Russian missiles
The United States does not have enough capabilities to counter Russian missiles, so it is necessary to extend the START-3 treaty with Moscow, RT quoted the Commander of the US Strategic Command, General John Hyten.
According to him, the most dangerous are the latest cruise missiles and hypersonic missiles, as well as the underwater drone "Poseidon".
"For the last 10 years, I've been worried about these weapons, they can change direction at any time and we're going to have problems with that. I can say that today I can protect the country, but I worry about the people who will take my position in the future," Mr. Hyten said.
Speaking to senators about the capabilities of Russian missiles, he said existing US weapons systems could detect them, but then they "disappear and you can't see them until they impact."
The general also called on the Senate to increase spending on modernizing the “nuclear triad,” which includes strategic bombers, land-based missile systems and submarines. This, according to Mr. Hyten, would require about a trillion dollars.
