General Nguyen Huu Cau: Nearly 1,000 police officers and soldiers will be sent to the commune before Tet.

(Baonghean.vn) - Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of Nghe An Provincial Police said: According to the roadmap of the Provincial Police leaders, from now until Tet, the police force will increase nearly 1,000 officers and soldiers to the communes.

The above information was announced by the head of Nghe An Provincial Police at the discussion session in the hall of the 12th session of the 17th Nghe An Provincial People's Council on the morning of December 11.

Previously, at the discussion session of the Provincial People's Council delegates on the afternoon of December 10, delegates suggested that the Provincial Police should organize a conference to deploy the content on commune police.

Regarding this issue, General Nguyen Huu Cau would like to acknowledge and thank the Provincial People's Council delegates. He said: The Law on People's Public Security takes effect from July 1, 2019 and is currently in the process of implementation.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee also issued Directive 27/CT-TU dated March 5, 2019 and Official Dispatch No. 4433 - CV/TU dated May 3, 2019 on strengthening the arrangement of regular police officers to take on the position of commune police officers.

The Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 02/2019/NQ-HDND dated July 12, 2019 on a number of policies and measures to build the communal police force in Nghe An province.

On December 2, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Project 4911 on arranging regular police officers to take on the positions of commune police.

Assessing that the documents and regulations are complete, Major General Nguyen Huu Cau proposed that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee allow the Provincial Police to advise on organizing and implementing the Provincial People's Committee's Project on commune police in the near future, possibly in December and at the latest in January 2020.

Regarding the deployment of regular police to work as commune police, General Cau added: Currently, the Provincial Police have sent regular police to 116 communes with 336 officers and soldiers.

“According to the roadmap of the provincial police leaders, from now until Tet, the police force will increase by nearly 1,000 officers and soldiers to the communes to both ensure the functions and tasks of the commune police; at the same time, attack and sweep away crimes related to security and order at the grassroots level,” said the head of the provincial police.

This afternoon (December 11), the Provincial People's Council will hold a question and answer session. General Nguyen Huu Cau will also answer questions about the fight against drug crimes in Nghe An, which is considered to have become more complicated and on the rise in recent years.

Yesterday, at the opening session of the Provincial People's Council, Mr. Ton Thien Phuong - Director of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province said: In 2019, the crime situation in the province remained complicated. In particular, drug-related crimes accounted for a high proportion in the crime structure (accounting for 43% of the total number of newly prosecuted crimes).
