(Baonghean) - Commemorating the 227th anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung's death, along with activities such as proclamation ceremonies, sacrifice ceremonies, thanksgiving ceremonies... Emperor Quang Trung Temple also held a Grand Memorial Ceremony for Emperor Quang Trung and the heroic martyrs.

Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue was born in the year of Quy Dau 1753. His ancestors were originally from the Ho family in Hung Nguyen, Nghe An province, and later changed their family name to Nguyen in Dang Trong. Witnessing the conflict between the two feudal groups Trinh - Nguyen, the division of the North - South, the misery of the people, and the suffering of the country, in 1771, he and Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Lu - three brothers raised the flag of uprising in Tay Son land.

227 years ago (July 29, 1792), Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue passed away in the capital city of Phu Xuan. Through many historical ups and downs, successive generations have always remembered and engraved his merits.

231 years ago (in 1788), Emperor Quang Trung issued an edict to build the Phoenix Citadel in Trung Do. The work was still unfinished when the Emperor passed away. After more than two centuries, the Party Committee, government, and people of Vinh City contributed money and effort to build a temple with three main buildings: the upper hall, the middle hall, and the lower hall on Dung Quyet Mountain. The temple has become a cultural and spiritual tourism destination for the people of the city in particular and the people of the whole province and the whole country in general... The death anniversary of King Quang Trung is held annually as an opportunity for us to review the heroic history of the Tay Son - Nguyen Hue dynasty.

Every year, Emperor Quang Trung Temple has two major holidays: July 29th of the lunar calendar - the death anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung and January 5th of the lunar calendar - the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory Day.

Mr. Vu Hong Duc - Head of the Management Board of Emperor Quang Trung Temple said: This year's 227th anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung's death, along with activities such as: Offering flowers, offerings; Sacrificial ceremony; Martial arts performances and singing in praise of Emperor Quang Trung, Emperor Quang Trung Temple also held a grand ceremony to commemorate the Emperor and the heroic Tay Son soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war to liberate the homeland and gain independence for the nation.

This is an activity to commemorate and show gratitude to the national hero Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue for his contributions in fighting foreign invaders and unifying the country; continue to propagate, promote and develop the spiritual and cultural values ​​of Emperor Quang Trung Temple, associated with service and tourism development; at the same time, meet the needs of enjoying and creating cultural values ​​and people's feelings towards Emperor Quang Trung.

To prepare for the 227th anniversary of the death of Emperor Quang Trung, the Management Board of Emperor Quang Trung Temple has developed an organization plan, assigned specific tasks to each member, in which propaganda work is given top priority. Along with building reports on Nghe An Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, City Radio and Television Station, propaganda is also organized on the grassroots radio system of wards and communes; hanging banners and slogans on the roads, central areas of the city, especially focusing on the road from Ben Thuy Bridge Intersection to Emperor Quang Trung Temple; planting banana flags and festival flags along both sides of the road from the parking lot to the Temple; setting up 2 groups of billboards announcing the celebration program at the foot of the mountain at the beginning of the road to the Temple and the parking lot...

The annual death anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung has become a festival for many people in the region. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (Trung Do ward, Vinh city) said: "Like my family, not only on the 15th and 1st of the lunar month, but also on Tet and the King's death anniversary, we also take time to go to the temple to burn incense and commemorate King Quang Trung - the person who made great contributions to protecting the country's mountains and rivers."
