Sentencing of the 'bluebeard' who molested 7-year-old niece

On April 29, 2022, the People's Court of Do Luong district, Nghe An province held a first-instance trial of defendant Tran Van Minh (born in 1967), residing in Do Luong district, Nghe An province, for the crime of "indecent acts with people under 16 years old”.

According to the case file and at the trial, defendant Tran Van Minh admitted: At about 9:30 a.m. on January 25, 2022, the defendant went to the neighbor's house to deliver fish. When he arrived at the house, LTHT (born in 2014) was home alone. When T. opened the gate, the defendant asked about T. and hugged and kissed T. on the lips.
Not stopping there, when T. ran into the bathroom, defendant Tran Van Minh used his right hand to hug her neck, kissed her lips, and used his left hand to rub her private parts. Only when T. cried out did the defendant stop.
Based on the entire case file and related details, the First Instance Trial Panel of the People's Court of Do Luong District sentenced defendant Tran Van Minh to 30 months in prison for the crime of "obscene acts with a person under 16 years old".
