Life sentence for the man who slashed 6 teachers and students, causing casualties
Do Manh Chieu Minh had delusions that he was infected with HIV by his neighbor Le Van Thuan, so he was always haunted by revenge.
On January 7, the People's Court of Thanh Hoa province opened the first instance trial of defendant Do Manh Chieu Minh (born 1994), residing in Dong Luong commune, Lang Chanh mountainous district, Thanh Hoa province, for murder, as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 123 of the Penal Code.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Thanh Hoa province, Do Manh Chieu Minh is a game addict and has little contact with people around him.
Before the incident, the subject had many paranoid psychological symptoms, believing that he was infected with HIV by his neighbor, Le Van Thuan (born 1986), so he was always haunted by revenge.
Knowing that he could not take revenge on Le Van Thuan, at around 7:30 a.m. on May 3, 2019, Do Manh Chieu Minh rode his motorbike from his home to Dong Luong Primary School to find and kill Le Van Thuan's son, Le Huu Phuoc, born in 2008, a 5A student.
Upon arriving, seeing that the school gate was unlocked, Do Manh Chieu Minh drove the car into the school's parking lot and went up to the second floor hallway in front of class 5A and saw Le Huu Phuoc studying.
When he located Le Huu Phuoc, the subject went down to the motorbike parking area to get a 23cm long fruit knife hidden in his waistband, then went back up to wait in the hallway on the 2nd floor.
At about 8:30 a.m. the same day, during recess, Do Manh Chieu Minh pulled a knife from his waistband, held the knife in his right hand, ran to where Le Huu Phuoc was sitting, and used the knife to stab and slash Le Huu Phuoc many times.
At that time, the homeroom teacher, Tran Thi Thanh, was in the classroom and immediately ran to stop the attack. The suspect swung a knife and stabbed her, injuring her left arm. He then continued to stab Le Huu Phuoc until he collapsed on the spot and then ran away.
On the way running from the 2nd floor to the school yard, Do Manh Chieu Minh continued to stab 4 other students, injuring them including Le Van Dong (born 2008), a 5B student, Le Minh Trieu (born 2009), a 4A student, Pham Duc Huy (born 2009), a 4B student, and Le Thi Diep Tuyen (born 2010), a 3B student.
After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene, but was later arrested by the police. The injured students and the homeroom teacher were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, Le Huu Phuoc died on the way to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
At the trial, based on the indictment, evidence and testimony in court, aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the Trial Panel sentenced Do Manh Chieu Minh to life imprisonment and ordered him to compensate the family of Le Huu Phuoc over 114 million VND, the family of Pham Duc Huy over 54 million VND, the family of Le Minh Trieu over 35 million VND, the family of Le Thi Diep Tuyen over 28 million VND, and the family of Le Van Dong over 21 million VND./.
