Most recently, on October 6, the Central Executive Committee announced the decision to discipline Da Nang City Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh as well as the entire Da Nang City Party Standing Committee, once again firmly reinforcing the General Secretary's statement: there are no forbidden zones or exceptions in handling officials who commit violations.
Sharing their feelings about the disciplinary action against the head of Da Nang city, many people shared the same feeling of sadness rather than happiness. “The fact that comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh, the youngest leader in the central government, was disciplined is the answer to those who are still wondering about the General Secretary’s statement that there are no forbidden zones or safe zones. I am very happy about that,” said Mr. Tuc.
According to Mr. Le Van Cuong, former National Assembly member of Thanh Hoa province, the disciplinary action of the Central Executive Committee against comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh is appropriate, demonstrating the strictness of the Party's discipline, especially according to Resolution 4 of the Central Committee. The disciplinary decision against Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh will be a lesson to remind and deter other cases, the violations will eventually be brought to light, dealt with, there is no way or force that can cover it up.

Ms. Bui Thi An - former National Assembly member of Hanoi City, said that the big problem in the lesson on cadre work is the selection of input. There must be a truly standard selection method to choose virtuous and talented people; must choose from many candidates for a position, the criteria must be clear, the selection method must be truly democratic, public and transparent. Selecting young people is good, but in addition to meeting all the criteria, it is necessary to focus on considering and evaluating the actual cadres, focusing on content rather than form.
To stand in a leadership position, it is not only a matter of qualifications but also important to have a process of training and cultivating through practice. Those results will show the capacity of that cadre, whether he or she can undertake the important responsibilities of a leader or not.
