A woman in Kano, Nigeria, recently posted an advertisement on a radio seeking a husband, promising an expensive dowry.

According to journalist Zango of Radio Free Asia, on June 16, Zainab Abdulmalik (22 years old) came to the station to post an advertisement seeking a husband, promising a house and a car to the chosen person.

Hundreds of men showed up the following day to apply. The number of people at the station was so large that staff had to call the police for Abdulmalik's protection.

Finally, the girl made her decision, but Abdulmalik did not reveal details about the man she had chosen as her husband.

Abdulmalik told the Daily Trust that she posted the ad seeking a husband because she had previously spent 5 million Naira (approximately $25,000) on a boyfriend, but he had abandoned her.

According to the BBC, this is the first time a woman has posted an advertisement seeking a husband on a radio station in Nigeria.
