Attending the ceremony were Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs Giang Seo Phu, leaders of central ministries and agencies, and 122 ethnic minority students who won high prizes in the national excellent student competition and were valedictorians of universities nationwide.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc commended and highly appreciated the efforts of the students, the support of their families, schools, and localities, which enabled them to achieve excellent academic results and be honored at today's ceremony.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: The Vietnamese people have a tradition of valuing education, considering learning as fundamental to fulfilling moral principles and acquiring knowledge for labor and production. Examples of those who overcome difficulties, are studious, excel in their studies, and are creative are always cherished and honored by society.

Recognizing education as a top national priority, the Party and State of Vietnam pay special attention to the cause of education and training, especially for ethnic minority communities. This is considered a decisive factor in poverty reduction, rapid and sustainable development in ethnic minority areas and remote regions, contributing to socio-economic development, raising intellectual standards, and nurturing talent.

Ethnic minority students have made great efforts, overcome difficulties, and strived to excel in their studies. The increasing number of students winning high awards in academic competitions each year is a remarkable result and a proud achievement in the training and development of human resources for ethnic minority and mountainous regions.

In that spirit, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the Ministry of Education and Training and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities should continue to review and research additional policies to develop human resources for ethnic minorities in the coming time. The education sector needs to continue to care for and focus on building a team of teachers in ethnic minority areas and remote areas who are highly skilled, morally upright, dedicated to their profession, and serve as shining examples for students to follow.

Local Party committees, government agencies, and mass organizations need to continue to pay attention to and care for the material and spiritual well-being of teachers, creating the best possible conditions for education and training in this area. Policies offering incentives and support are needed to ensure teachers can work with peace of mind and remain committed to the long-term cause of "nurturing future generations" in ethnic minority regions.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged central ministries and agencies, businesses, and individuals both domestically and internationally to pay more attention and contribute resources through practical actions, creating favorable conditions for the development of education and training in ethnic minority and mountainous regions. Furthermore, families and clans should encourage their children and grandchildren to overcome difficulties to attend school and excel academically, thus fulfilling the expectations and concerns of everyone.
