Commending 22 ethnic minority students who achieved high scores in the 2017 university entrance exam
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 1, the Ethnic Minority Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to honor 22 ethnic minority students who passed the university entrance exam with high scores in the 2017 National High School Exam.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Luong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee; along with representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches and 22 ethnic minority students who passed the university entrance exam with high scores in the 2017 National High School Exam.

This is the fourth year that the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Nghe An province has organized a ceremony to honor ethnic minority students with excellent achievements in entering universities to commend and reward their achievements. At the same time, it also honors the tradition of studiousness of ethnic minority and mountainous areas of our province.
The 22 students honored this time all passed the university entrance exam with 26 points or more for groups C and D and 26.5 points or more for groups A and B.
In particular, 3 students were awarded by the Provincial People's Committee: Ha Le Sao Mai (Que Phong) with 28.4 points; Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen (Quy Hop) with 27.75 points; Lang Duy Thuc (Quy Chau) with 27.5 points.

At the ceremony, 21 ethnic minority students from high schools in the province were also honored to receive gifts from Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Do Van Chien. Particularly, student Ha Le Sao Mai will be honored at the National Ethnic Minority Students Honor Ceremony.
Along with 3 students being commended by the Provincial People's Committee, the Ethnic Committee awarded certificates of merit and 19 gifts, each worth 4 million VND, to 19 students with excellent achievements in this year's University entrance exam.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Minh Thong praised and appreciated the efforts of the students, the support of their families, schools and localities to help them achieve excellent academic results, which is the first step in the journey towards the future of outstanding children in all villages of Nghe An.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized that Nghe An pays special attention to education and training, especially for ethnic minority areas; considering this a decisive factor to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, develop quickly and sustainably in ethnic minority areas, remote and isolated areas of the province.
