Honoring 24 typical ethnic minority youths of Nghe An province in 2022

(Baonghean.vn) - 24 outstanding and outstanding young people and 101 disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies in the ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Nghe An were recognized and honored at the program "Commending and meeting outstanding ethnic minority young people and children in difficult circumstances in Nghe An province in 2022".

On the evening of August 25, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, the Youth Union, and the Provincial Pioneer Council organized the program "Commending and Meeting with Outstanding Ethnic Minority Youth and Children in Difficult Circumstances of Nghe An Province in 2022".

Nghe An is a land rich in revolutionary tradition, rich in cultural and ethnic identity. Ethnic minorities account for 15.2% of the province's population with more than 40,000 ethnic minority youth and more than 10,000 children from policy households, ethnic minority children, and poor households in difficult circumstances.

Understanding the difficulties of children in ethnic minority areas, in recent times, the Youth Union at all levels has closely followed the grassroots and implemented many practical models to support them such as: Green Library, Reading and Team Activity Space; Small Planning House, Tree Pots I Take Care Of, Knowledge Ladder, Flower Garden I Plant...

At the same time, coordinate and mobilize organizations and individuals to donate thousands of gifts worth tens of billions of VND to ethnic minority youth, poor students, and children in especially difficult circumstances to add spirit and motivation, helping them to strive to excel in their studies and training.

These efforts have contributed to improving the quality of education in remote, isolated and ethnic minority areas of the province. In particular, in the 2021-2022 school year, the academic performance of ethnic minority students continued to improve in both quantity and quality; many students achieved high scores in the high school exam and won high prizes in national excellent student competitions.

Together with the youth of the province, the union members and ethnic minority youth in mountainous, remote and isolated areas of the province have strived to overcome difficulties, affirming the position and role of youth as pioneers and volunteers on all fronts, from economics, culture, society, education, health, to national defense and security.

Through emulation movements, more and more typical examples of ethnic minority youth in the province have appeared in all areas of social life. They are the beautiful flowers in the colorful flower garden of ethnic minority youth in particular and the province in general.

At the program, 24 typical examples of ethnic minority youth were commended and rewarded by representatives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Youth Union. In addition, the Nghe An Provincial Association for Promotion of Education and the Provincial Youth Union presented many meaningful gifts to 101 young people, 30 scholarships to 30 ethnic minority children and children with difficult circumstances who have excelled in their studies out of a total of nearly 150 children supported by the Youth Union at all levels.

You are exemplary models of moral qualities, sense of responsibility, spirit of overcoming difficulties, good study, representing the spirit of perseverance and good virtues of youth in the homeland of beloved Uncle Ho.

Speaking at the program, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Van Luong said that this year's program to honor and meet ethnic minority children and children in difficult circumstances in Nghe An province brought children from remote villages and disadvantaged areas to red addresses in Vinh city and Cua Lo town. This is an opportunity for children to witness the development of their home province, to inspire their dreams; at the same time, create a practical educational environment to guide them to determine their goals and ideals for themselves and society.

The head of Nghe An province's youth hopes that through the program, ethnic minority youth and disadvantaged children who strive to study well will continue to promote the results achieved to gradually strive, practice, study, and overcome adversity and difficulties in life. From there, they will join hands to develop the economy and society, preserve the traditional and cultural beauty of the locality, thereby contributing to building national unity and building Nghe An homeland to develop more and more.
