Commending underprivileged children who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.

- In response to the "Month of Action for Children 2013" and to celebrate International Children's Day, on the evening of May 25th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union organized the program "Lighting up the dreams of Nghe An children, Commending underprivileged children who have overcome difficulties". Attending the event were Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, along with 102 underprivileged children from primary and secondary schools throughout the province.

102 delegates were honored as exemplary students from impoverished and disadvantaged backgrounds, hailing from mountainous and coastal districts across the province. Each student faced different circumstances, such as being orphaned, suffering from illness, or affected by Agent Orange. However, all of them overcame difficulties, strived for excellence in their studies and personal development, and served as outstanding and exemplary members of the Youth Union.

At the ceremony, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, the VNTENNIS forum management board, the Nghe An Tennis Club in Hanoi, and the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund presented certificates of merit and gifts to 102 underprivileged children who have overcome difficulties, with each gift worth 1,000,000 VND.

- On the morning of May 25th, the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province, in coordination with Prison No. 3 - General Department 8 of the Ministry of Public Security, organized an exchange program titled "Lighting up dreams for a brighter tomorrow".

This is one of the collaborative activities to educate young inmates and help them reintegrate into the community, signed between the Vietnam Youth Union of Nghe An province and Prison No. 3. Besides cultural and artistic activities, the inmates also had the opportunity to interact, chat, and share the difficulties and hardships faced by prison guards; and with inmates who had been educated and reformed at the prison and, after returning to their localities, became exemplary role models, correcting their mistakes and becoming useful members of society.

During the exchange, the inmates also received education on life values, moral values, and legal education.

On this occasion, the Young Doctors Club of Nghe An province and Tan Ky district organized free medical examinations, health consultations, and medication distribution for 150 inmates at Prison No. 3. The Nghe An Provincial Youth Union awarded certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to 5 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of rehabilitating and educating inmates, and presented 20 gifts to inmates with good conduct and good rehabilitation records at Prison No. 3.
