David Beckham's son retires
Romeo Beckham, the second son of former football star David Beckham, has decided to quit football to pursue a fashion career.
Romeo was unhappy when the London club asked him to continue playing for the reserve team. So he left football at the age of 21, ending his dream of following in his father's footsteps to follow in the fashion footsteps of his mother, a leading British designer.

Although he is no longer playing, Romeo Beckham will continue to work with Brentford Penguins - a project set up by Brentford Club to help players aged 5 and over with Down syndrome.
This is not the first time Romeo has hung up his boots. The young player born in 2002 left the field for a while because he did not meet professional requirements in 2015 and turned to tennis.
In 2021, Romeo Beckham returned to football, playing for Inter Miami, a club owned by David Beckham himself. The Beckham son played 26 times for the reserve team, scoring 2 goals and providing 10 assists in the MLS Next Pro league before joining Brentford B on loan in January 2023.
Vietnamese women's volleyball team officially has a place in the world championship
Recently, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) homepage announced 32 men's and women's volleyball teams that will compete in the 2025 World Championship. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team appeared on the above list. This is the first time Vietnamese volleyball has been named in the world championship.
“The women's volleyball teams that have qualified from the continental championships are Kenya, Egypt and Cameroon (Africa), China, Japan and Vietnam (Asia), Turkey, the Netherlands and Italy (Europe), Dominican Republic, the United States and Canada (NORCECA - North, Central America and the Caribbean) and Brazil, Argentina and Colombia (South America),” the FIVB website wrote.

The remaining 15 spots, allocated through world rankings, go to Poland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, Ukraine, France, Bulgaria, Cuba, Sweden, Mexico, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain and Greece, the FIVB said.
At the 2023 Asian Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team only ranked 4th, while Thailand ranked 1st. However, because Thailand was chosen as the host of the 2025 World Championship, it was automatically entered into the tournament. The remaining 3 tickets will belong to China (2nd place), Japan (3rd place) and Vietnam (4th place).
After the FIVB World Club Championship 2023, Vietnamese women's volleyball will continue to participate in a world-level tournament, the FIVB World Championship 2025. The scale of the FIVB World Championship 2025 is larger than the World Club Championship. Vietnamese fans are looking forward to seeing Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen and other players of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team compete in the World Championship 2025.
Thailand was made difficult by their home team before the tournament, Vietnam team determined to win
After the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) changed the schedule of the AFF Cup 2024 (moving from November 23 - December 21, 2024 to December 8 - January 5, 2025), the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) and the Thai League organizing committee held a meeting to arrange plans for tournaments in late 2024 and early 2025.
After the change of AFF, many matches of Thai League and Thai National Cup must be moved to be played earlier or later so that the national team can gather to prepare for AFF Cup 2024.

However, the top 4 Thai clubs, Buriram United, Port FC, Muangthong United and True Bangkok United, have recently sent a petition to the FAT. These 4 teams will participate in 2 continental tournaments, AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League 2. Therefore, the top Thai clubs want to play Thai League and Thai Cup while the AFF Cup 2024 is taking place.
This means that the players of these four teams will have to leave the Thai national team to return to serve their clubs right at the time the AFF Cup 2024 is taking place. The reason for this request is that the AFF Cup is not part of the official FIFA competition schedule, so clubs have every right to refuse to release players to the national team. Without a reasonable solution, Thailand is at risk of losing many important stars at the AFF Cup 2024.
Russia team has another shake-up before the match against Vietnam
The Russian team's roster has changed right before going to Hanoi to play friendly matches with Vietnam and Thailand.
According to the latest announcement of the Russian Football Federation, two players Igor Diveev and Alexander Soldatenkov are not focused, so coach Valery Carpin called Valentin Paltsev, Anton Zinkovsky and Arsen Adamov to add to the Russian team list, preparing for two matches against Vietnam and Thailand.

In addition, Lokomotiv midfielder Alexei Batrakov was called up to the Russian national team for the first time. This season, the 19-year-old player scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 7 rounds of RPL World.
Although not having the strongest squad, the Russian team is still rated much higher than the Vietnamese and Thai teams. Midfielder Dmitry Barinov commented on the tournament held at My Dinh Stadium: "We play against teams that we have a chance with. The Russian team aims to win as a gift for the fans."
According to the plan, on the morning of September 4, the first two players of the Russian team to arrive in Vietnam are midfielder Daler Kuzyaev and goalkeeper Matvei Safonov. Of these two faces, Matvei Safonov is the number 1 goalkeeper of the Russian team, who has just transferred to play for PSG (France) with a contract worth more than 500 billion VND.
At 1:00 p.m. on September 4, the remaining members of the Russian team arrived at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi). That evening, the Russian team had their only training session at My Dinh Stadium to prepare for the match against Vietnam./.
